The Tenth Kathryn Gawartin Chopin Competition was held  on February 9, 2020 at Steinway & Sons Beverly Hills. After a six plus hours of marathon playing,  a careful deliberation and difficult decision, our judges Anli Tong and Charles Asche concluded with the following.

Division I  (age 10 & under)

First Place:               Evan Chang – student of Claudia Xi from Orange County Branch

        Please note the Winners’ Recital  will be held  on Sunday, February 16 at 2 p.m. at Roth Hall in Crossroads School located at 1714 21st Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404.  All placed winners are required to perform at the recital wherein awards will be presented and they need to send me  (Louisa) a brief bio at the earliest convenience. A reception will follow the recital. All participants are invited to attend. Please invite friends too.
