Certificate of MeritTM
is an annual evaluation program for piano, string, woodwind & brass, and voice students. Requirements are flexible enough to be met by the average student, as well as the more gifted performer. Selected students may be invited to perform at Branch Honors Festivals, the State Convention, or the prestigious Young Artist Guild, a showcase at the MTAC State Convention for the most talented Certificate of MeritTM musicians.

please note: NEW RULE that ALL Panel students (who are non-exempt)
MUST take their theory exam BEFORE MARCH 1—which means they
must take the exam BEFORE our March 2–3 CM weekend.
10/01/18: State Database opens for Initial CM Enrollment; however,

CM Council has blocked ALL teachers until after the manda-
tory meeting on 10/03/19.

10/01/19 State Database opens for online entry of evaluation information
and repertoire: (Repertoire may be entered in

09/24/19 Mandatory meeting for CM teachers (part of the Branch
General Meeting location TBA


10/31/19 11:59 pm State Database CLOSES for all CM Enrollment.
Teachers may not enroll additional students after midnight, 10/31.


Parent Payment required online (
No enrollment change (level, etc.) after payment is processed;
No late payments will be accepted.
