Music from all repertoire is welcome (check the CM/Royal/ABRSM syllabuses for examples) .  Please avoid pieces  from method books , particularly pieces that are arrangements or transcriptions )

a few notes about recital etiquette/behavior to share with students and families :

RECITAL ETIQUETTE:

1. All performers must stay for the entirety of the  program.
2. Traditional recital dress code must be followed for a respectful, professional look. Teachers, please remind students that their recital attire contributes to the overall ambience of the events and reflects on each studio,  each participant and our branch .
3. PLEASE!!! NO GETTING OUT OF YOUR CHAIR DURING A PERFORMANCE.  No conversations   During a recital ….offer appropriate  applause after each participant ( no cheering or calling out of individual performers’ names ) please show equal enthusiasm  for each performer . No eating or drinking (except water) in the recital room .       If you absolutely must exit during the recital, do so quietly in between performers  . Upon re-entering , do so only between performers.
4. Branch Student recital is an event for all students of the branch at CM level 1 and above . repertoire may be from any period , (but should not include pieces from method books).   Recital pieces should be memorized , except for chamber music and ensemble pieces . Please limit your studio participants to aprox 11 mins total .   Proper recital etiquette should also be observed to create a formal event .   Please advise students to dress in appropriate recital attire, no jeans or sports gear, please.
