Kravets, Jan
Jan Friedberger Kravets has been an active music educator, piano teacher and collaborative pianist for more than thirty years, in her native New York, Miami and in Los Angeles.
As a collaborative pianist for music festivals and competitive events and recitals, Jan frequently performs throughout the Los Angeles area.
Jan is on the piano faculty at Sol La Music Academy in Santa Monica, where she teaches group and individual piano classes and is a certified Orff Schulwerke instructor. She is also on staff as a collaborative artist at Sol La.
She is on music faculty at Saint Anne School in Santa Monica where she teaches Orff Music classes. to kindergarten, first and second grade.
Before serving as President of MTAC West Los Angeles, Ms. Kravets served as President of the Broward County Music Teachers Association in South Florida. From 1999-2008. she was the Music Director of the Kuhn Early Childhood Center of Temple Beth Orr in Coral Springs, FL, overseeing all music education for pre-school students as well as assistant choir director for the elementary division.
From 1988-1998 she was on the piano faculty and collaborative artist at the Greenwich House Music School in New York.
From 1983-90, Ms. Kravets was a collaborative pianist for the Undergraduate Division of Opera Studies at SUNY College at Purchase. She worked directly with Leyna Gabriele, accompanying her Opera Workshop classes in scene preparation and vocal coaching.
Mrs. Kravets’ piano studies have included Donn Alexandre Feder at the Manhattan School of Music and German Diez (Assistant to Claudio Arrau). Jan received her BFA in Music-Piano Performance from the State University of New York at Purchase in 1983.
