The pianist and composer Neil Harris Galanter began his musical studies at the age of seven. He gave his first recital at the age of nine, and made his debut at twelve with orchestra. He has since gone on to play many recitals, concerts as soloist & with orchestra throughout the USA, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He received his doctorate degree from the University of Southern California. He also studied at the Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music in New York , Temple University and at the University of Michigan. He has taught piano and composition for over 25 years and his students have won many contests and placed highly in many competitive events.
He has performed and recorded much of the music of the major Spanish, English, French, Brazilian and Belgian composers and has received grants on several occasions from the Spanish Government for research in Spanish piano music. As a composer, he has written over 35 works for piano, chorus, chamber ensemble and woodwinds and has received commissions from various musical organizations and churches throughout the USA & Europe.
He is a core adjunct professor at National University and also was also Music Director at Culver City Methodist Church in Culver City. In addition to his work as a musician, he is also fluent in five languages and has worked extensively as an interpreter, linguist and translator.
